The host signs. You hear it, and can read it.
About Ten Digits
Ten Digits lets a Deaf signer make a video call where their signing becomes a spoken voice and on-screen captions in real time, and the other person's speech is shown back as text for the signer to read.
For you, the guest
- You join right here in your browser — no app or account needed.
- You see and hear the host normally. When they sign, you hear a spoken voice.
- Turn on CC during the call to also see their signing as captions.
Good to know
- One-way sign recognition. Only the host's signing is translated. If you sign, it isn't recognized — speak, type on your device, or the host reads your lips.
- The host needs the Ten Digits Mac app. This site is only for joining a call someone starts from the app; you can't start one here.
- Recognition runs on the host's own computer and may misread signs.
Privacy Policy
Last updated 16 October 2026
Ten Digits is a personal project by Brienna Herold. This explains what happens to your information when you join a call here.
What we collect
- Account: none. You don't sign in to join.
- During a call: your camera and microphone are sent to the other person so you can talk. A display name may show if the host set one.
- Browser storage: a small setting on your device remembers whether you last had captions or sound on. It never leaves your browser.
How calls are carried
- Calls use a third-party real-time video service to connect you and the host; your video and audio pass through that service's servers to reach the other person.
- We don't record or store your call. Audio and video aren't saved here.
- The host's sign recognition runs on the host's own device; only the resulting text is shared into the call. Your video isn't used for sign recognition.
What we don't do
- No selling your data, no ads, no tracking across other sites.
- No storing your video, audio, or messages after the call ends.
